Recap: While out on a walk, Ichiko runs into Ranmaru Rindou, a girl with a manly appearance and speech. When Ranmaru happens to transfer into Ichiko’s class, they don’t get along at all. Ranmaru challenges Ichiko to a fight and loses because of Ichiko’s fortune. When Ichiko and Momiji notice that Ranmaru shows interest in having a boyfriend, they decide to give her a makeover. Ranmaru’s father finds out about her makeover and punishes her. Ichiko confronts him and refuses to let him continue to dictate over Ranmaru’s life.
In this episode, we finally meet Ranmaru Rindou. The whole episode focuses on the new character; however, the first and second half have different plots. I was pretty much laughing the whole time throughout the first half of the episode. I know this a bit corny, but I’m impressed how each of the girls’ personalities can shine through without taking away much away from each other.
The second half has a bit more serious tone while being funny at the same time. It’s pretty cute that Ranmaru has a feminine personality hiding somewhere inside of her. We don’t get to see Ranmaru’s feminine side for long because her father beats it out of her. We find out more about Ranmaru’s background and find out that her father is the reason for her appearance and speech; however, she still cherishes her father.
This is the first time we really see Ichiko and Momiji somewhat acting like friends. It’s also the first time we get to see them hanging out together without being totally hostile towards each other. It seems like they’re slowly becoming friends. I’m not sure how long that will go on because eventually someone’s going to have to force Momiji to do her job.
We find out that Ranmaru seems to have a little crush on Keita. Ranmaru is straightforward with her feelings so she might go after Keita. If that actually happen, then I wonder if it would be enough to make Ichiko realize whether she has feelings for Keita as well. Is there even room for a love triangle in this series?!
Anyways, I have some good news and bad news. We get to see Nadeshiko this again this week! The bad news is that Bobby and Momoo are nowhere to be found.

I can appreciate what you mean. She is a nodoby but that is kind of the point. Excuse me for sounding prude. I think one ultimately wants someone spectacular to see something within him or her that is equally amazing unbeknownst to himself. And the proof of that amazing-ness is the attention of the other person. If a reason is given for the attention it somehow seems less honest. My point is that being a telepath is a good enough reason to be considered special anything more seems overboard.
